Welcome to Hoomate Pet Store! The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Hoomate Pet Store.

Hoomate Pet Store operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products, and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the “Services”). Hoomate Pet Store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

The following terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein, collectively constitute these “Terms of Service” or “Terms” and describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services.

However, colors, dimensions, textures, or product appearance may differ from how they appear on your screen due to the type of device you use, screen settings, lighting, photography, and other technical factors.

Product-Specific Notes

Cat Litter: Minor dust, slight color variation, texture variation, or differences in clumping performance caused by ambient humidity, storage conditions, or natural plant-based materials are normal product characteristics and shall not necessarily be deemed product defects.

Pet Toys: Our pet toys are designed exclusively for cats and dogs. Normal wear and tear resulting from chewing, pulling, scratching, or regular play is expected. Small parts, strings, ropes, stuffing, squeakers, feathers, or removable attachments may pose choking, swallowing, or entanglement hazards if damaged or used improperly.

We do not warrant that the appearance, performance, or quality of any product or service purchased through our store will meet every individual expectation or appear exactly the same as depicted or rendered online.

All product descriptions, prices, availability, specifications, and other product information are subject to change at any time without notice at our sole discretion.

We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time and may limit product quantities available to any person, household, geographic area, or jurisdiction within the United States on a case-by-case basis.

SECTION 3 – PET PRODUCT SAFETY AND USAGE RULES

3.1 Usage Restriction

All products sold by Hoomate Pet Store are intended for pet use only unless expressly stated otherwise.

Our pet products are not intended for children or for human consumption.

3.2 Pet Toy Safety

Pet toys should be selected based on the pet’s size, age, breed, chewing habits, health condition, and play style.

Always supervise pets during use, particularly when using plush toys, rope toys, squeaky toys, crinkle toys, teaser wands, feather toys, string toys, toys with stuffing, or toys with removable or small parts.

No pet toy is indestructible.

Inspect toys regularly for loose stitching, torn fabric, frayed rope, exposed stuffing, damaged squeakers, broken parts, or other signs of wear.

Immediately remove and discard any product that becomes damaged or presents a choking, swallowing, entanglement, or injury risk.

3.3 Cat Teaser Toy Safety

Cat teaser wands, strings, feathers, and removable teaser attachments are intended for supervised interactive play only.

Do not leave a cat unattended with teaser wands, strings, feathers, or detachable parts.

Store these products in a secure location after use to help prevent chewing, tangling, or accidental swallowing.

3.4 Cat Litter Safety

Cat litter is intended for use in cat litter boxes only.

Store cat litter in a cool, dry place and reseal the package after opening.

Do not allow pets or children to ingest cat litter.

Litter dust may cause irritation in sensitive animals or individuals. If accidental ingestion, irritation, respiratory discomfort, or unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use and contact a veterinarian or other appropriate professional.

3.5 Compliance

Our pet products are intended to comply with applicable United States consumer product safety requirements and are sold subject to the safety instructions, warnings, labels, and usage guidance provided with the relevant product.

3.6 Pet Preference

We do not guarantee that every pet will accept, enjoy, tolerate, or become accustomed to a particular product.

Dissatisfaction resulting solely from pet preference, lack of interest, behavioral response, or refusal to use a product shall not automatically constitute a product defect.

SECTION 4 – ORDERS

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase products from Hoomate Pet Store.

We reserve the right to accept or decline any order for any lawful reason and at our discretion.

Your order is not accepted until Hoomate Pet Store confirms acceptance. We must receive and successfully process payment before an order is accepted.

Please review your order carefully before submitting it.

Orders may be canceled within 1 hour after the order is placed, provided the order has not already been fulfilled or shipped.

After the 1-hour cancellation window, we may be unable to accommodate cancellation or modification requests once order processing has begun.

If we decline, modify, or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you using the email address, billing address, shipping address, or phone number provided when the order was placed.

You represent and warrant that your purchases are for your own personal or household use within the United States and not for unauthorized commercial resale or export.

SECTION 5 – RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

Returns, refunds, replacements, and exchanges are governed by our Return and Refund Policy.

5.1 Return Eligibility

For non-defective products, return requests must be submitted within 14 calendar days after delivery.

To qualify for a return, the product must be unused, in the same condition in which it was received, and in its original packaging. Proof of purchase is required.

5.2 Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Opened or used cat litter;
  • Used, chewed, stained, torn, or damaged pet toys;
  • Products damaged through misuse or normal wear and tear;
  • Clearance items;
  • Promotional items;
  • Gift cards;
  • Products marked as final sale.

5.3 Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Orders

Visible shipping damage, missing items, or incorrect items must be reported within 7 calendar days after delivery.

Other verified product defect claims must be submitted within 30 calendar days after delivery.

We may require photographs, videos, packaging images, order details, or other supporting evidence before determining eligibility for a refund, replacement, or other remedy.

5.4 Return Authorization

Returns sent without prior authorization will not be accepted.

If a return request is approved, we will provide the applicable return instructions and return address.

5.5 Return Shipping

For returns based on personal reasons, including change of mind, ordering the wrong product, or pet preference, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping.

The original shipping fee paid at checkout is non-refundable unless required otherwise by applicable law.

If we confirm that a product is defective, materially damaged during transit, missing, or incorrect, we will bear the return shipping cost or provide another prepaid return solution at our discretion.

5.6 Exchanges

We do not generally offer direct exchanges unless otherwise agreed by us in writing or the product is confirmed to be defective or incorrect.

In most cases, the fastest way to receive another product is to complete an approved return and place a new order separately.

SECTION 6 – PRICES AND BILLING

Prices, discounts, and promotions are subject to change without notice.

The price charged for a product or service will be the price in effect at the time the order is placed and will be shown in your order confirmation.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, listed prices do not include applicable taxes, shipping charges, handling fees, or other charges.

We currently provide services and sell products to customers located within the United States.

Prices listed in our online store may differ from prices offered through physical stores, third-party marketplaces, social commerce platforms, or other sales channels.

From time to time, we may offer promotions that affect pricing. Such promotions may be governed by separate terms and conditions.

If there is a conflict between the terms of a promotion and these Terms of Service, the specific promotion terms will govern with respect to that promotion.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase, payment, billing, shipping, and account information for all purchases made through our store.

You agree to promptly update your account and payment information, including your email address, credit card information, and expiration dates, so that we can complete transactions and contact you when necessary.

You represent and warrant that:

  1. The payment information you provide is true, correct, and complete;
  2. You are authorized to use the payment method provided;
  3. Charges incurred by you will be honored by your payment provider; and
  4. You will pay all applicable charges, including product prices, shipping costs, handling fees, and taxes.

SECTION 7 – SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

We currently deliver orders only to eligible addresses within the United States.

We do not currently support international shipping unless expressly stated otherwise.

All delivery dates and transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, severe weather, natural disasters, labor disputes, customs or governmental actions, address errors provided by the customer, or other events outside our reasonable control.

Title to products passes to you upon delivery.

Risk of loss or damage during transit will be handled in accordance with our Return and Refund Policy and any applicable shipping protection or carrier claim procedures.

Minor package abrasion, cosmetic packaging damage, or slight leakage of cat litter that does not materially affect the usability, safety, or quantity of the product may not be considered material shipping damage.

SECTION 8 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Services, including all trademarks, trade names, logos, brands, text, displays, images, graphics, illustrations, product reviews, videos, audio, software, page layouts, and the selection and arrangement thereof, are owned by Hoomate Pet Store, its affiliates, partners, or licensors.

These Terms permit you to access and use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

All other names, logos, products, services, designs, and slogans appearing through the Services are the property of their respective owners.

We do not monitor, control, or provide input regarding such third-party tools.

Hoomate Pet Store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

However, any sales and purchases you make through our store are transactions made directly between you and Hoomate Pet Store.

By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of sales between you and Hoomate Pet Store, including any injury, damage, loss, defect, delay, or dispute resulting from products or services purchased through our store.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release Shopify and its affiliates from claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or relating to your purchases and transactions with Hoomate Pet Store.

  5. Not complete or circumvent CAPTCHAs or other measures designed to distinguish automated systems from humans;
  6. Respond truthfully to requests intended to determine whether an interaction is automated;
  7. Not bypass technical or contractual measures intended to limit or control automated access.

SECTION 17 – TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate these Terms or your access to the Services, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms, misuse the Services, engage in unlawful activity, or otherwise create risk or potential harm to us, Shopify, our customers, or third parties.

You will remain responsible for all amounts due up to and including the effective date of termination.

We are not liable for pet injury, illness, discomfort, property damage, or loss resulting from:

Hoomate Pet Store may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction where appropriate.
